Proper storage prevents production headaches.
Edge banding is sensitive to temperature and humidity. Improper storage can lead to curling, brittleness, or poor adhesion. Follow these simple rules.
Keep It Cool and Dry
Store bandings in a climate‑controlled environment (18–22°C, 40–60% humidity). Avoid damp basements or hot warehouses.
Avoid Direct Sunlight
UV radiation can discolor bandings and degrade the material. Keep rolls in opaque packaging or shaded areas.
Store Vertically
Always store rolls upright on their ends, never flat. Flat storage can cause the banding to deform under its own weight, leading to “telescoping” (layers sliding sideways).
Use First‑In, First‑Out (FIFO)
Like any material, edge banding has a shelf life. Rotate stock so older rolls are used before newer ones, ensuring consistent quality.
Bring to Room Temperature Before Use
If bandings have been stored in a cold environment, let them acclimate for 24 hours before application to prevent condensation‑related issues.
